Description

Procter Pest-Stop Little Nipper rat traps have a distinctive design which has remained largely unchanged since 1897 when they were first made by Procter Bros Ltd. The Little Nipper–the original wooden-platform rodent trap–is designed so that a rat has to step on to the treadle to reach the bait. The treadle releases the wire at the slightest movement ensuring that the trap has an exceptionally high strike rate. This treadle design combined with a strong spring guarantees a quick and humane kill and makes the Little Nipper highly effective against furry rodents. Procter Pest-Stop Little Nipper rat traps should be set at right angles to the wall with the treadle closest to the wall because rats tend to run along the walls of rooms. In order to increase the strike rate it is best to place un-baited traps in this position for a while before baiting them so that rats become accustomed to the traps. Experience suggests that the most effective baits are peanut butter chocolate or raisins. All that you need to do when you catch a rat is hold the Little Nipper rat trap over a bin lift the wire square let the dead rat fall into the bin and then re-bait and reset the trap. Keep the traps out of reach of pets or children by placing them behind furniture.Procter Pest-stop Little Nipper rat traps were first made by Procter Bros Ltd. in 1897 and the distinctive design has remained largely unchanged ever since. The unique treadle design of this the original wooden platform rat trap makes it probably the most effective rat trap available. This wooden based traditional rat trap is one of the most powerful on the market due to its strong spring. The treadle based bait station was inherited from the Little Nipper mouse trap. The rat has to step on the wooden treadle to reach the bait placed there so that even the slightest movement will set off the trap ensuring an exceptionally high strike rate. Experience suggests that the most effective rat trap baits are peanut butter chocolate or raisins. As rats tend to run alongside the walls of rooms the traps should be set at right angles to the wall with the treadle closest to the wall. Placing un-baited traps in this position for a while can allow rats to become accustomed to them and so when the trap is baited and set the strike rate becomes even higher. Placing the trap behind furniture keeps them out of reach of pets or children. When a rat is caught simply hold the trap over a bin lift the wire square and the dead rat will fall out. Then re-bait and reset the trap and of course wash your hands.
